Before Orientation

All Engineering students are required to complete Chemistry 155 and 156. In order to take Chemistry 15 a student must either have scored 26 or higher on the Math section of the ACT, scored 600 or higher on the Math section of the SAT, or pass the Chemistry Placement Exam that is given during New Student Orientation. This exam is a serious test and students should prepare adequately.

The book The Engineering Student Survival Guide written by K. Donaldson and published by McGraw-Hill is recommended summer reading. This text includes some preparation information as well as some coping techniques. Some information is specifically targeted at preparation to attend college and thus should be read before coming to school.
