Scholarships are typically awarded for the Fall and Spring semesters of the academic year.Award levels of scholarships are set by the scholarship donors. The College matches students' academic performance, financial need, and demographic information with the appropriate scholarships.(Students do not need to apply separately for each scholarship offered by the College). (Please note: The information below does not apply to incoming freshmen. Freshmen are automatically considered for any scholarships for which they may be eligible as long as they complete the required FAFSA by the appropriate deadline. For more information on freshman financial aid and scholarships, visit finaid.wvu.edu.) In order to apply for College scholarships for current students, students must be enrolled full-time in a major within the College (i.e. Mechanical Engineering, not General Engineering). Students must also complete an on-line application, which will be made available each year in the spring. Applications must be completed by April 15th of each year, and will be reviewed for awarding during the subsequent Fall and Spring semesters. To be awarded a scholarship a student must meet all the eligibility requirements of the scholarship, and they must have a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form on file with the WVU Financial Aid Office, available at finaid.wvu.edu. Award decisions are made in early June after the Spring semester grades have been posted. Students will be sent letters regarding the outcome of the scholarship deliberation process.
Many
scholarships are renewable, but you must continue to meet the qualifications and
reapply each year.
