CICI - Center for the Integration of Composites into Infrastructure

The Center for the Integration of Composites into Infrastructure is a National Science Foundation (NSF) Industry/University Cooperative Research Center which began operations in July 2009. The primary objective of the center is to usher applications of composites in civil and military infrastructures to the next level through collaborative efforts between West Virginia University, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, North Carolina State University and the University of Miami, Florida. The focus areas will synergize different fibers and polymers to create new application areas; thus expanding market potential.

Mission

The mission of CICI is to accelerate the adoption of polymer composites and innovated construction material into infrastructure and transportation applications through collaborative research

Meetings

The first Industrial Advisory Board Meeting was held on November 12-13, 2009, and the second IAB Meeting on June 2, 2010. The next IAB meeting will be in early February in Fort Lauderdale to coincide with the ACMA Composites 2011 conference. More details will be forthcoming.
