CICI - Center for the Integration of Composites into Infrastructure

The Center for the Integration of Composites into Infrastructure is a proposed National Science Foundation (NSF) Industry/University Cooperative Research Center which is expected to begin operations in Mid-2009. The primary objective of the proposed center is to usher applications of composites in civil and military infrastructures to the next level through collaborative efforts between West Virginia University, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, North Carolina State University and the University of Miami, Florida. The focus areas will synergize different fibers and polymers to create new application areas; thus expanding market potential. In August 2009, the National Science Foundation approved the creation of CICI, and the first Industrial Advisory Board Meeting will be held on November 12-13, 2009.
