Internships
Internships allow students to observe and participate in their field in an actual professional setting. Internships are available in a wide variety of settings, from close to home to around the world.
Cooperative Education Program
Cooperative Education provides an opportunity for students to apply what they learn in the classroom by alternating periods of full-time study with paid full-time employment.
For more information on our Cooperative Education Program, click here or contact lloyd.ford@mail.wvu.edu, coordinator of corporate relations and career assistance.
Career Resource Center
The Career Resource Center in the Engineering Sciences Building provides interview rooms for on-campus recruiting, information on companies who are hiring, access to MountaineerTRAK, the WVU job search portal, and more.
WVU Engineering and Computer Science Career Fair
The College of Engineering and Mineral Resources Career Fair is held on the engineering campus in October of each year. More than 150 employers, representing military, government, and the private sector, recruit for internships, co-ops, and permanent positions during the two-day event. Many contact individual on-campus interviews during a third day.
Permanent Employment
Many companies recruit on our campus and specifically seek out our graduates. Most of our students receive at least one job offer before they graduate. Job placement among our students is very high, with some departments approaching 100%.
