Engineering life at WVU
is more than just classes and books. Almost without fail, our best students are
the ones that go out and get involved in activities and clubs that suit their
interests...... and if you have an interest, chances are WVU has a club to match
it! The College of Engineering and Mineral Resources and all of its individual
majors offer student-run chapters of real engineering professional organizations
that enhance your classroom learning, with field trips to see what your learning
is doing in the real world, and speakers from industry.
WVU's Rec Center, a
short walk from the residence towers, offers a world-class facility to keep your
body as fit as your mind, and best of all it's free to students!
In addition to all that
WVU offers, the city of Morgantown, West Virginia, Voted as the Most Livable
Small Town in America, has the amenities of a city twice its size. BOPARC, the
Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners, runs Morgantown's parks, as well as
the beautiful Metropolitan Theater. 10 miles outside the city are Cooper's Rock
State Park and Chestnut Ridge Park, escapes from the city not far away.
