Small Business Innovation Research Seminar June 13

On Friday, June 13, the Pittsburgh Technology Council will host "SBIR: Commercializing Your Product" with the U.S. Department of Defense at the Regional Learning Alliance, 850 Cranberry Woods Drive, in Cranberry Township, Pa.

This workshop will feature an address by Congressman Jason Altmire, a supporter of the Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR). The program encourages small businesses and entrepreneurs to maximize their technological potential by funding the critical startup and development stages of research and development. The program also offers small businesses the option to explore opportunities in high-tech innovation.

To view the current Department of Defense SBIR solicitations or to learn more about the SBIR program, visit www.dodsbir.net.

If you (or a company that you work with) are interested in applying for one of these highly competitive grants, this workshop may be helpful. Roger Cohen of Cohen International will provide vital information about the SBIR program and offer tips on how to write a successful proposal.

The workshop has a heavy focus on Department of Defense SBIR grants. Program managers from various defense agencies will be on hand to answer specific questions about their next round of solicitations.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable information on the SBIR application process as well as the chance to meet Department of Defense SBIR Program Managers. Please take a moment to review the event details and agenda below.

Additionally, you should make note of another opportunity to interact with senior executives from nine countries brought to Pittsburgh by the Carnegie Bosch Institute and the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance on June 6. To learn more, click here.
