Home > News and Events > News > News DetailsFreshman Engineering Fest Aug. 27WVU freshman engineering students will gather Wednesday (Aug. 27) evening to meet and greet each other, learn about the many student organizations within the College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, and enjoy free pizza and soft drinks at the Freshman EngineerFEST Wednesday.The event will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the National Research Center for Coal and Energy on the Evansdale Campus. "This event is designed to expose our freshmen to student chapters of professional organizations in our College as well as other services offered by WVU" said Dr. Robin Hensel, Freshman Engineering Coordinator. Organizations at the event will include Tau Beta Pi, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers, Institute of Industrial Engineers, Student Society for the Advancement of Biometrics, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Society of Mining Engineers, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Association for Computing Machinery, Eta Kappa Nu, National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, Challenge X, Sigma Gamma Tau, NASA West Virginia Space Grant Consortium, WVU Biodiesel Project, Freshman Advising Table, Engineering Residential Complex, Freshman Engineering Office, Office of International Programs, Office of Civic Engagement, Amizade, and the Career Resources Center. The event is open to faculty, staff and other students as well.
