Jed DiPaolo, a 1976 graduate of the University with a bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering, will deliver a College Distinguished Lecture on Thursday, October 16. The lecture, entitled "WV-You: Making the Most of an Education," will take place at 9:30 a.m. in room G-83 of the Engineering Sciences Building. A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jed DiPaolo has extensive experience in the oil and gas sector. Upon graduating from WVU, DiPaolo joined the Halliburton Group in 1976. He spent most of his career with Halliburton in a number of operational and executive roles. These positions included Group Senior Vice President of Global Business Development, North American Regional Vice President, and Far East Regional Vice President for Halliburton Energy Services. Mr. DiPaolo is a member of many professional organizations, including the Society of Petroleum Engineers, National Ocean Industries Association, International Association of Drilling Contractors, and Independent Petroleum Association of America. In addition, he sits on the Board of Directors of Boots & Coots, Superior Well Services, Inc., Edgen Murray Corporation, Evolution Petroleum Corporation, Tarpon Energy Services, Inc., and other companies. Mr. DiPaolo is currently an independent producer in the oil and gas industry, works as a consultant for Growth Capital Partners, a merchant investment banking firm, and serves as a director for a number of emerging private companies. Following Mr. DiPaolo's lecture will be the dedication ceremony for the new addition to the Engineering Sciences Building, which will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the Atrium of the new facility.
