ChemE Students Bring Home Awards

Two students in our Department of Chemical Engineering won awards in the Undergraduate Research Poster Session at the Annual American Institute of Chemical Engineering meeting in November in Philadelphia.
Jennifer Knipe won first place in the subsection of Food, Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology for "Principal-Component Analysis of the Differentiation of Dendritic Cells," based on her work with Assistant Professor David Klinke.
Erica Sladky won third place in the Catalysis and Reaction Engineering section for "Shape-Controlled Synthesis of Platinum Nanoparticles and Their Catalytic Effect on the Reduction of Aromatic Nitro Compounds,"

based on her participation in Research Experiences for Undergraduates at the University South Carolina, a program sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
