Computer Science Student Receives Society of American Military Engineers Award



Warren Myers (left), Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and Brian Woerner (right) Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Chair, presented Joe Abel with his award and $1,000 check from the Society of Military Engineers.


Joe Abel, a senior computer science major in our College, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Society of American Military Engineers. Abel was recommended for the award by the WVU Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC), in which he has served as a student. Abel is a native of Flemington, New Jersey. After he graduates, he will enter the U.S. Army as a 2nd lieutenant.
