Students to Celebrate Engineers Week

The College will celebrate Engineers Week February 15-21.

Activities will begin Saturday, February 14, with Eighth Grade Day in Engineering. Approximately 100 middle school students will visit the College to participate in hands-on engineering activities and lab tours led by WVU students.

Other highlights include a dodge ball tournament between various student organizations; a movie night; game show night and a formal dance. In addition to the activities on campus, the College will also display its mini Baja car at the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh on February 20 and 21.

"National Engineers Week is celebrated each year at the time of George Washington's birthday to honor our nation's first president, who was a military engineer and a surveyor," said Ryan Sigler, coordinator of enrollment management for the College. "The purpose is to increase the public's awareness and appreciation of the engineering profession."

For more information on Engineers Week and CEMR activities, contact Sigler at 304-293-0398.
