College Announces Faculty Award Recipients

The College of Engineering and Mineral Resources is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2008-2009 Outstanding Advisor, Teacher, and Researcher Awards, as well as the New Researcher of the Year.

The award recipients were recognized at the College Weekend of Honors Ceremony on Friday, April 3, at the Erickson Alumni Center.

In addition, Advisor of the Year, Teacher of the Year, and Researcher of the Year awards were announced during the ceremony.

The College's President's and Dean's List students were also recognized at this ceremony.

Outstanding Advisor Award recipients:
Larry Banta, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Edwin L. Kugler, Department of Chemical Engineering
John Kuhlman, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Advisor of the Year:
Larry Banta, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Outstanding Teacher Award recipients:
Julio Davalos, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
David Graham, Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering
Lian-Shin Lin, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
Marcello Napolitano, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Charter Stinespring, Department of Chemical Engineering

Teacher of the Year:
Marcello Napolitano, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Outstanding Researcher Award recipients:
Donald Adjeroh, Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering
Julio Davalos, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
XingboLiu, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
James Smith, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Matthew Valenti, Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering
Nick Wu, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Researcher of the Year:
Julio Davalos, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

"We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of all the nominees and awardees," said Gene Cilento, dean of the College. "They are truly excellent faculty role models, and I congratulate them for their very significant contributions."
