Three CEMR Students Receive Tau Beta Pi Scholarships

Three students in our College recently received national scholarships from Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society.

Anne Mallow and Aaron Readon, seniors in our Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering, and Jonathan Slinkard, senior in our Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, were among 234 students from around the nation who received the $2,000 scholarships.

"We are very proud of Anne, Aaron and Jonathan," said Gene Cilento, dean of the College. "They represent the best of our College and University."

Winners were selected on the basis of their academic performance, campus leadership and service, and promise of future contributions to the engineering profession. All are members of Tau Beta Pi.

Tau Beta Pi is the national engineering honor society, founded in 1885. It has collegiate chapters at 234 engineering colleges and universities in the United States and active alumni chapters in 18 cities. Tau Beta Pi has initiated more than 505,000 members in its 124-year history and is the world's largest engineering society.
