Admission Overview
The College of Engineering and Mineral Resources admits freshmen into one of three distinct programs: Engineering, General Engineering, or Pre-Computer Science.
The purpose for having two freshman engineering programs is to be able to provide a curriculum that is tailored to the level of academic preparation of each student. This maximizes each student's chance for a successful first-year experience.
Freshman admission is based on a combination of high school grade point average (un-weighted 4.0 scale) and standardized ACT/SAT test scores. For information on GPA and test score requirements for both freshman engineering programs, click here.

Both programs provide students with the coursework necessary to complete the courses required to move into their intended major.
Students interested in pursuing a degree in Biometrics Systems should apply to the Engineering or General Engineering Program as appropriate for your high school GPA and ACT or SAT test scores.
