West Virginia University

Welcome

In the College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University, you will find expert faculty, advanced technology, and the guidance and support you need to achieve success in your career and in your life.

Our college is truly a home away from home for our students. Our unique freshman year will help you develop the confidence and skills you need to succeed.

Our faculty will mentor and guide you. A common freshman curriculum – including basic courses in math, science, and engineering – will expose you to engineering and to the majors available within the college.

Study labs, tutoring, learning centers, and mentors will provide the support you need. Dedicated freshman advisors are available to help you discuss your courses or any other problems you encounter, with an open door policy.

You also will have the opportunity to engage in research and internships, and to get involved in one or more of the many clubs and organizations in our college.

If you interested in gaining professional experience and earning a paycheck at the same time as you earn your degree, check out our Cooperative Education Program, which allows eligible students to alternate periods of full-time work with full-time study.

Please look around our website, and contact us at CEMR-INFO@mail.wvu.edu or by phone at (304) 293-4821 ext. 2228 if you have any questions, need any information, or would like to schedule a visit to our college. We look forward to meeting you!
