Expert faculty are conducting innovative, ground-breaking research at the WVU College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. Our aim is to apply the technical expertise and intellectual prowess of our faculty and students to improving lives in West Virginia and worldwide. Much of our research is multidisciplinary; our faculty work with colleagues from a wide range of disciplines. We are building innovative programs in nanoscience and engineering, biometrics and identity technologies, advanced infrastructure, and energy, just to name a few.

CAFEE's research program is aimed at reducing exhaust emissions and consumption of petroleum-based fuels.


Biotechnology/Bioengineeering

WVU is a national leader in biometrics research and the FBI’s lead academic partner for research in this increasingly relevant discipline.


Biometrics

WVU is building an interdisciplinary program in biomedical engineering based on cross-disciplinary collaboration between engineering and health sciences faculty.
